CLAT 2027 Exam Details
Registration is anticipated to begin in early August 2026, following the notification release. The CLAT 2027 examination is scheduled for early December 2026. Candidates must complete their applications by mid-November 2026. Admit cards will be available at the end of November.
Exam Pattern
The CLAT exam structure differs for UG and PG admissions.
UG-CLAT Pattern
The UG-CLAT assesses comprehension, reasoning, and current affairs. It consists of 120 questions, each worth one mark. The total exam duration is 120 minutes. A penalty of 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. The five sections are English Language, Current Affairs (including General Knowledge), Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques.
PG-CLAT Pattern
The PG-CLAT also features objective-type questions. The overall exam pattern remains consistent with the UG-CLAT, maintaining the same duration, question count, and marking scheme.
Eligibility Criteria
For UG-CLAT, candidates from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories need a minimum of 40 percent marks in their 10+2 or equivalent examination. Other category candidates require 45 percent marks.
PG-CLAT eligibility mandates a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree. Candidates must secure 50 percent marks in their LL.B. program. SC/ST/PwD candidates have a reduced requirement of 45 percent marks.
