How to Check Your Allotment Result

Follow these simple steps to check and download your CLAT 2026 First Allotment Result:

  • Go to the official website: consortiumofnlus.ac.in/clat-2026 .
  • Look for the 'CLAT 2026 Round 1 Seat Allotment Link'. Click on it.
  • A PDF list of allotted seats will open.
  • Press Ctrl+F on your keyboard and type your admit card number or roll number to find your name and seat.
  • Download this list. Keep it safe for future use.

Next Steps After Allotment

The seat you get is provisional for now. After checking the list, candidates must choose one of three options: Freeze, Float, or Exit. This helps secure final admission to a law university.

1. Freeze Option

  • Choose 'Freeze' if you are happy with the law university allotted to you.
  • You must then pay the confirmation fees of Rs 20,000 . This amount will be adjusted against your university fees later.
  • Candidates who choose 'Freeze' will not take part in any further rounds of seat allotment. Your admission to this university is set.

2. Float Option

  • Choose 'Float' if you did not get your first choice of NLU, or if you want a better college in later rounds.
  • You must still pay the confirmation fees of Rs 20,000 . This fee will also be adjusted against your university admission fees.
  • By choosing 'Float', you keep your current seat but also get a chance to be allotted a different seat in upcoming rounds.

3. Exit Option

  • Choose 'Exit' if you do not wish to join any NLU through CLAT 2026 counselling, either in this round or future rounds.
  • If you choose 'Exit' after already selecting 'Freeze' or 'Float' and paying the confirmation fee, your seat will be given to another candidate. The Rs 20,000 confirmation fee you paid will not be refunded.

Document Verification and Final Fee Payment

After choosing an option (Freeze or Float) and accepting the seat, candidates must upload necessary documents to the official portal for verification. This step ensures your eligibility. After document verification is complete, candidates need to pay the remaining university fees. This final payment completes the admission process for the allotted National Law University.
