CLAT 2026 Exam Today: Key Details, Reporting Time, What to Carry

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 is happening today, December 7 . Thousands of students across India will take this important exam to get into top law universities. The test will run from 2 PM to 4 PM . This article shares all the important information students need for the exam day, including reporting times and what items to carry.

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) is conducting the CLAT 2026 exam. It will be held in many places: about 89 cities , covering 25 states and 5 Union Territories . There are more than 139 exam centres in total. The exam is a pen-and-paper test, meaning students will mark their answers on an OMR sheet.

Reporting and Entry Times

Students must reach their exam centre early. Entry into the exam hall will start at 1 PM . It is very important to arrive on time. No student will be allowed to enter the exam hall after 2:15 PM . The exam officially begins at 2 PM, so reaching by 1 PM gives students enough time to find their seats and complete any entry procedures without rush.

Downloading Admit Card

If any student has not yet downloaded their CLAT 2026 Admit Card, they must do so immediately. The admit card is a must-have document for the exam. Students can visit the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in , to download their admit card. Without this card, entry to the exam hall is not possible.

What to Carry to the Exam Hall

Students must bring specific items to the exam hall. Carrying the right things will ensure a smooth entry and exam experience. Here is a list of items students must carry:

  • A clear printout of the CLAT 2026 Admit Card . Make sure the printout is easy to read.
  • An original, valid photo ID proof . This can be your Aadhaar Card , Passport, PAN Card , Voter ID, or Driving License. Photocopies are not allowed.
  • At least two passport-size photographs . These should be recent photos.
  • Blue or black ballpoint pens for writing the exam. Students should bring a few extra pens.
  • A transparent water bottle . The bottle should not have any labels.
  • If applicable, your Disability Certificate .

Items Not Allowed

Students should not carry any electronic devices like mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, or study materials into the exam hall. Only the items mentioned above are allowed. Following these rules will help avoid any problems on exam day.
