The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 exam will happen on December 7, 2025 . The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) will conduct this exam. Students who have signed up for CLAT 2026 must take it to get into law courses. The exam will be held offline, meaning it will be a pen-and-paper test.
The CLAT 2026 exam will run from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM . However, students with disabilities (PwD candidates) will get more time, and their exam will end at 4:40 PM . All students must carry their CLAT 2026 Admit Card and other necessary documents to the exam center.

What to Carry to the Exam Center
Students must bring specific items to the exam hall. Without these, entry may not be allowed:
- Your CLAT 2026 Admit Card . Make sure to carry two copies of it.
- A valid photo ID. This can be your Aadhaar Card , Voter ID , PAN Card , Passport , or Driving License .
- For PwD candidates, a valid disability certificate is needed for check.
- Only a BLACK or BLUE Ball Point Pen to mark answers on the OMR sheet.
- A transparent water bottle.
- An analogue watch (a watch with hands, not digital).
Keep your signed Admit Card safe even after the exam. You will need it later for admission steps.
Rules for Exam Day
The Consortium has set clear rules for all students taking the CLAT 2026 exam. Follow these rules for a smooth exam experience:
- The exam duration is 2 hours for general candidates. PwD candidates get 2 hours and 40 minutes .
- You will not be allowed to enter the exam room without your Admit Card .
- Entry into the exam center begins at 1:00 PM . Students will enter the exam room after their documents are checked.
- You cannot leave your classroom before the exam finishes at 4:00 PM .
- Using the washroom is not allowed once the exam starts.
- Wear normal, casual, and loose clothes.
- Avoid fancy footwear, bracelets, any jewelry, clothes with big buttons, and hair clips.
Items Not Allowed in the Exam Center
Students must not bring certain items to the CLAT 2026 exam center. These items are strictly forbidden:
- Calculators
- Electronic devices of any kind
- Headphones or earphones
- Digital watches
- Study materials or notes
- Mobile phones
- Cameras
Students should leave these items at home or outside the exam premises. Do not carry them into the exam center.
