Understanding Seat Allotment Options
After the merit lists are published, students will be offered seats. They will have specific options to choose from:
- Accept (Freeze): If you are happy with the seat given to you and do not want to be considered for a better option in later rounds, you can choose 'Accept' or 'Freeze'. You will then need to pay the confirmation fee to hold this seat.
- Revise (Float): If you want to keep the current seat but also wish to be considered for a better NLU or program in the next counselling rounds, you can choose 'Revise' or 'Float'. You must still pay the confirmation fee to secure your current seat while hoping for an upgrade.
- Withdraw: If you do not wish to take any seat or continue in the counselling process, you can choose 'Withdraw'. After withdrawing, you will not be considered for any further seat allotments.
Students who choose 'Accept' or 'Revise' must pay a confirmation fee to the Consortium to hold their provisional seat. The admission process for CLAT 2026 will happen over five rounds of seat allotment. It is important to check the official website regularly for updates and further instructions.
