New Session Structure
Under the previous system, classes began on June 16. Admissions, book distribution, and uniform and bicycle distribution occurred after this date. This often impacted student learning time. The new calendar shifts these administrative tasks to April. This allows students to begin their academic year promptly after the summer break.
Reasons for Change
Chhattisgarh School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav stated the previous schedule made timely syllabus completion difficult. He explained that classes started June 15. The admission process continued until July 30. This created a lag in academic work. Studies were often rushed later in the year.
Yadav said the new schedule will facilitate a smoother teaching process. Admissions will now occur in April. This ensures that actual teaching can begin immediately when schools reopen.
Summer Vacation Unchanged
Student summer vacations will remain the same. Schools will observe a summer break from May 1 to June 15 . Classes will resume on June 16 . The new academic session starting April 1 will still include this summer break period.
