CEPT University has started accepting applications for its Master's in Architecture (Housing Design) program for Spring 2026 . This two-year postgraduate course is offered by the Faculty of Architecture. The announcement provides a chance for students who missed the main admission window to join a nationally recognized housing design program without waiting for a full year.

The M.Arch (Housing Design) program helps future architects learn how to design homes. It combines practical design work in studios with classes on housing rules, how to make homes affordable, different types of homes, and real-world examples. This program is unique in India because it allows students to choose their own studios and courses. This means students can shape their learning path based on their interests and career goals.

Here are the requirements for different types of applicants:

Applicant Type Requirements
Indian Applicants Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) or a similar degree with at least 50% total marks . For reserved categories, 45% total marks are needed.

About the Program

Students in this program explore many aspects of housing design. They can join special design studios that focus on themes like flexible living spaces, advanced design methods, and how to make housing affordable for everyone. Students can also earn extra credits by attending CEPT's Winter and Summer Schools.

CEPT University works with leading global institutions such as the National University of Singapore and TU Delft . The program also brings in well-known architects like Ar. Biju Kuriakose , Ar. Chitra Vishwanath , and Ar. Yatin Pandya . These partnerships offer students international perspectives and practical insights from the real world, enriching their studies and preparing them for diverse roles in housing design.

Why This Program Matters

India's housing market is a large part of its construction industry. It is growing faster than cities can manage. New government policies, technological changes, and climate issues are forcing Indian cities to rethink how they build. Architects trained in housing design are now key to leading this change.

The M.Arch (Housing Design) program at CEPT University is specifically designed for this situation. It prepares architects to create new, climate-friendly, and socially responsible housing for India's quickly expanding urban areas.

Professor Viswanath Kashikar, who chairs the M.Arch (Housing Design) program at CEPT University, highlighted the need for experts. He stated, "There is a shortage of professionals, researchers, and educators in the field of housing design. This program offers a rare chance for students to build their own future and make important contributions to housing design in India."
