The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched a new online system for revaluation of Class 12 exam answer sheets. This digital process aims to increase transparency. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the initiative. The system is now operational.
Online Revaluation Process
Students can access the revaluation portal from May 19 to May 29, 2026 . The process is in two stages. Students must first request a scanned copy of their answer sheet. This is Stage 1. The fee for this is ₹700 per subject .
After receiving the scanned copy, students can compare it with the official marking scheme. If they find discrepancies, they can proceed to Stage 2. Stage 2 involves verification of marks or re-evaluation of specific answers. Verification of marks costs ₹500 per book . Re-evaluation of selected answers costs ₹100 per question .
Key Dates and Statistics
The revaluation system handles a large volume of applications. It covers 17 lakh students. The system processed 98 lakh answer copies. This equates to 40 crore scanned pages. So far, 4 lakh students have accessed 11 lakh copies. They have used it for mark verification or to raise queries.

Technical Support and Accountability
The initiative has support from IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras. Four public sector banks are also involved. They provide integrated payment solutions. They also offer technical oversight. The government acknowledges that some discrepancies have occurred. It accepts responsibility. All student concerns will be resolved fully. The government promises accountability.
