The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released new resource books for Computational Thinking and Artificial Intelligence (CT & AI). These materials are for students and teachers in classes 3 through 8. They are available for download on the official CBSE Academic portal at cbseacademic.nic.in.
New CT & AI Resources Available
This release supports the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The books aim to integrate AI education into schools. They follow the structure of NCERT Mathematics textbooks. This allows teachers to easily incorporate computational thinking lessons.
The curriculum uses a framework called CT+AI+Ethics+Unplugged Learning. CBSE expects this to create AI-literate learners by 2030. The books focus on problem-solving processes. They use algorithms and explore ethical AI concepts.
Curriculum Changes for Higher Grades
CBSE will discontinue all previous AI courses for Class 9 starting the 2026-27 academic session. New NCERT modules will replace these. These new modules will be used for internal assessments in classes 9 and 12.
The resource books are designed to foster critical thinking. They address scenarios with multiple variables. Students will learn about step-wise algorithms. Ethical considerations like data bias and fairness are also included.
Teachers and students can access these digital handbooks immediately. The materials provide standardized learning content. The integration of CT & AI aims to prepare students for future technological advancements.
