The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has assured students that its On-Screen Marking (OSM) system is secure and reliable. This statement follows recent concerns and reports of errors in the digital evaluation process.

CBSE Addresses System Glitches

Students have reported issues including incorrect answer sheets, blurry scans, and marking errors. These concerns have circulated widely on social media platforms. The CBSE aims to counter these claims by emphasizing the integrity of their digital system.

System Security and Testing

In a recent social media post, the CBSE stated that the OSM platform underwent rigorous testing by experts. The board asserts that no vulnerabilities have been found in the actual evaluation portal. Security audits by certified bodies have also confirmed the system's robustness.

The CBSE highlighted its digital infrastructure features multiple quality checks. Safeguards are in place to ensure answer books are scanned and processed securely. The board confirmed that student answer sheets are protected through these mechanisms.

Addressing Student Concerns

The OSM system was introduced this year. CBSE stated its purpose is better assessment and precise online evaluation. However, discrepancies in student marks have raised questions. Many students reported receiving photocopies of their answer sheets with missing pages or unmarked questions.

These issues led to renewed allegations of flaws in the evaluation process. An ethical hacker also pointed out perceived weaknesses in the system. The board's selection of Coempt Eduteck as its digital partner for scanning answer sheets has also faced scrutiny.

Coempt Eduteck's Role Clarified

Allegations suggested Coempt Eduteck was chosen through an improper process. The CBSE denied these claims, stating the company was selected through an open public tender. Coempt Eduteck's involvement is limited to digitizing answer sheets only. The company does not participate in the marking process.

Re-evaluation Process

The window for students to obtain photocopies of their answer sheets has closed. The CBSE will soon open a portal for re-evaluation applications. Students can submit requests for subject-wise rechecking of their answer sheets.

Detailed information regarding the re-evaluation process will be available on the CBSE website shortly. This provides students a formal channel to address any remaining concerns about their marked answer scripts.
