Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) conducted an orientation workshop on new Class 9 Mathematics and Science textbooks. The event took place at the CBSE Integrated Office Complex in Dwarka, New Delhi. The workshop aimed to equip teachers with an understanding of the revised books and effective classroom implementation strategies. A total of 110 teachers attended. This included 58 Mathematics teachers and 52 Science teachers from CBSE affiliated schools. Representatives from Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Navodaya Samiti also participated.
Workshop Focuses on New Curriculum Implementation
NCERT experts led the sessions. They explained the pedagogical approach behind the new textbooks. The focus was on building clear student comprehension. Teachers received guidance on connecting academic concepts to real-life applications. The objective is to make lessons more engaging and interactive for students.
Teacher Training for Competency-Based Learning
The workshop emphasized competency-based learning. Experiential teaching methods were highlighted. The use of concepts in problem-solving was a key theme. Holistic assessment strategies were also discussed. These approaches align with the National Education Policy 2020. They also support the National Curriculum Framework for School Education 2023.
According to CBSE, attendees will serve as Master Trainers. They are expected to support other educators within their schools and regions. This initiative aims to facilitate a smooth transition to the updated Class 9 Mathematics and Science curriculum.
