The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has revised its Class 12 revaluation process for 2026 results. Students unhappy with their marks can apply for revaluation, but the board will no longer conduct a separate verification of marks. This change is due to the implementation of on-screen marking (OSM).
Revised Revaluation Process
Under the new system, the three-step revaluation process has been shortened to two steps. Previously, students could request mark verification, a photocopy of answer sheets, and revaluation of specific questions. The introduction of OSM automatically calculates marks assigned by examiners. This eliminates the initial step of manual mark verification.
How to Apply for Revaluation
Students must first request a photocopy of their answer sheets through the online portal once it opens. There is no limit to the number of subjects for which students can request photocopies. A fee will be charged per subject.
After obtaining the photocopies, students can review their marked answers. If they believe certain questions have been marked incorrectly, they can apply for revaluation on a per-question basis. A fee will be charged for each question revalued. Students should carefully read the official notification when released.
Timeline and Class 10 Revaluation
The CBSE will announce the schedule for Class 12 revaluation results shortly. The revaluation process for Class 10 results will commence after the second board results are declared. The process for Class 10 revaluation remains unchanged.
