The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the schedule for Class 12 supplementary practical exams. These exams will take place from July 29 to August 4, 2026 , across all streams.
Eligible students must contact their schools or designated exam centers by July 27, 2026 . Over 2.5 lakh students are expected to appear for the CBSE Class 12 theory supplementary exam on July 28, 2026.
The supplementary practical exams are for students categorized as 'compartment' students. This includes those needing to repeat practical exams (RP) or repeat both theory and practical exams (RB).
Students with RP status only need to retake the practical exam. Their existing theory marks will be used. Students with RB status must retake both the practical and theory exams.
Regular students will take their practical exams at their own schools. Private students must report to their assigned supplementary exam centers. If a center lacks necessary lab equipment, the regional office will arrange an alternate location.
Practical Exam Administration
CBSE will appoint external examiners for practical exams. Schools and center superintendents cannot select their own external examiners. They can only nominate internal examiners from their teaching staff.
Mark Submission and Student Requirements
Schools must upload practical exam marks to the CBSE website on the same day of the exam. Once uploaded, these marks are final. No changes will be permitted.
Schools must notify students about their practical exam dates and times. They should also coordinate with regional offices for smooth exam conduct. Students must bring their admit card and a copy of their marksheet or results.
