The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released Class 10 Second Board Examination results on July 18, 2026 . This marks the first year of a two-board system for Class 10, introduced to align with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Students can access results on the DigiLocker Results Portal at results.digilocker.gov.in.
Two-Board System Introduced
The new system allows students to take board exams twice. The Main Board Examination occurred from February 17 to March 11, 2026. The Second Board Examination took place from May 15 to May 21, 2026. The initiative aims to reduce student stress. It provides a chance to improve scores before final results are calculated.
Impact on Student Performance
The CBSE reports a positive impact from the new system. The combined pass percentage for both examinations reached 96.78% . This is an increase from the Main Board Examination's standalone pass rate.
Data shows 5,13,955 students appeared for the Second Board Examination. Of these, 3,08,095 students improved their performance. This represents 59.95% of students who took the improvement exam. This figure indicates a successful pilot for the initiative.
