The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened the registration window for the Class 10 second board exam. Schools can now submit the List of Candidates (LOC) for students who want to take the exam again or improve their scores. The registration process started on April 16, 2026 .
Schools have until April 22, 2026 , to complete the LOC submission. This is a chance for students who appeared for the main Class 10 exams to improve their marks in up to three subjects.
Who Can Apply?
Students who have already passed the CBSE Class 10 main exams can apply to improve their scores in subjects like Science, Mathematics, Social Science, and languages. Students who were placed in compartment in the main exams can also register for the second board exam.
Important Dates
The LOC submission is divided into phases:
| Phase 1 (Registration and Fee Payment) | April 16 to April 20, 2026 |
| Phase 2 (Final Submission with Late Fees) | April 21 to April 22, 2026 |
After April 22, 2026, no changes, additions, or extensions will be allowed.
Exam Details
The second board exam will follow the same syllabus as the main 2026 exams. If a student pays the fee but does not appear for the exam, their main exam result will be considered final.
Students with special needs will be accommodated if they were registered previously. Students in the Sports category can participate if they have the necessary approval.
Students who need to repeat the academic year (Essential Repeat category) are not eligible to apply for this exam.
Fees
The exam fee for students in India and Nepal is INR 320 per subject . For students taking the exam from other countries, the fee is INR 1100 per subject .
A late fee of INR 2,000 will be charged during the final submission window (April 21-22).
How to Pay Fees
Payments must be made online using debit or credit cards, NEFT, RTGS, UPI, or net banking. Offline payment methods will not be accepted.
