The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will hold the Class 10 Science board exam on February 25, 2026 . Students preparing for this exam should focus on key topics in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology to score well. Knowing which chapters carry more marks helps students study smarter.

The CBSE Class 10 Science paper for 2026 will have different types of questions. These include Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) for basic checks, short and long answer questions that need explanations and diagrams, and case-based or assertion-reason questions to test thinking skills. Numerical problems will mainly come from Physics. Students will also get about 33% internal choice in the paper, meaning they can choose to answer certain questions.

Common Mistakes to Avoid in Science Exam

Many students lose marks because of simple mistakes. Avoid these common errors during your preparation and on exam day:

  • Ignoring Diagrams: Do not skip drawing and labelling diagrams, especially in Biology and chapters related to Light in Physics. Clear diagrams often fetch full marks.
  • Chemistry Errors: Make sure all chemical equations are balanced correctly. Also, remember to write proper units for numerical answers in Chemistry.
  • Optics Diagrams: When drawing ray diagrams in chapters like Light, ensure they are complete and show focal points clearly. Incomplete diagrams can reduce your score.
  • Skipping NCERT Textbooks: The NCERT books are the main source for the CBSE exam. Read them thoroughly.
  • Not Solving Previous Papers: Practice with previous years' question papers. This helps you understand the exam pattern and types of questions asked.

By focusing on these important topics and avoiding common mistakes, students can improve their scores in the CBSE Class 10 Science board exam 2026.
