The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will soon release Class 10 results for the second board examinations taken by nearly 6.6 lakh students. These results will be based on performance in both exams conducted in May 2026.

Second Board Exam Results Soon

CBSE introduced a new system of two board examinations for Class 10 students starting the 2025-26 academic year. The aim is to reduce exam pressure. The final result will consider the best performance from either exam.

Key Rules for Class 10 Results

Final Marksheets Available Digitally

Final marksheets will be available for download on DigiLocker. A printed copy will also be sent to schools for students and parents. This applies to all students, not just those who took the second exam. The marksheet released after the first exam was provisional.

Best Score Determines Final Result

If a student took both board exams, CBSE will use the higher score for the final result. For example, if a student scored 45 in the first Mathematics exam and 43 in the second, 45 will be recorded.

Mathematics Subject Option

Students who took Basic Mathematics in the first exam could opt for Standard Mathematics in the second. The rule of considering the higher score applies regardless of subject choice changes.

Verification and Re-evaluation Process

After result declaration, CBSE will start verification and re-evaluation for both board examinations. Clarity on re-evaluating both exams for students who appeared in both is expected. The process involves verification, photocopy request, and then re-evaluation.

Compartment Exam Impact

Students passing compartment exams in the second attempt will not have 'compartment' mentioned on their final marksheet. It will not indicate the student took two attempts.

Failing Compartment Exams

Students failing compartment subjects even in the second exam can appear for compartment exams scheduled for July. The board will release the schedule for these exams.

Class 11 Admissions

Class 11 admissions in CBSE schools will commence after the final Class 10 results are declared.

Result Release Timeline

CBSE has not confirmed an exact date for the Class 10 result release. It is expected on or before June 21, 2026 . A slight delay is possible due to ongoing Class 12 revaluation results processing. Students should monitor the official website, cbse.gov.in , for updates.
