The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued new guidelines to schools regarding the submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) for the 2026 Class 10 Second Board Examination. The directive, released on Monday, March 30, 2026, clarifies the process for students taking the supplementary exam. This follows an earlier circular on March 17, 2026, which announced the exam and addressed student and school inquiries.
Second Exam LOC Submission Process
CBSE has structured the LOC submission into three phases. The first phase requires schools to submit only the LOC, without any fee payment. This initial step aims to determine the expected number of candidates. This information will help CBSE make necessary logistical preparations for the examination.
Phases two and three involve the actual submission of student details. During these stages, students can submit, alter, drop, or add subjects. They will also pay the required examination fee. This entire process is managed through the student's original school of examination.
The board has stated that if a student pays the fee and submits the LOC for the second exam but does not appear, their final result will be based on their performance in the main Class 10 Board Examination.
School Fee Guidelines Announced
CBSE has become aware that some schools are demanding three months' tuition fees from students submitting their LOC for the second examination. The board considers this a violation of its rules and demands an immediate cessation of this practice.
Schools are instructed to collect only the official examination fee specified in the LOC circular. No additional or unapproved fees are permitted. Schools must adhere strictly to CBSE regulations. Any school found contravening these instructions will face strict action from the board.
