Concerns over the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 results are intensifying as a student claims his physics answer sheet was switched. Vedant, a Class 12 student, posted on social media platform 'X' on May 23, 2026, alleging the CBSE provided a scanned copy of an incorrect answer sheet for his physics exam. He stated he applied for a photocopy of his answer sheet after receiving lower than expected marks.

Answer Sheet Dispute Surfaces

Vedant shared that the scanned answer sheet received was not in his handwriting. He questioned the evaluation process, stating the board may have evaluated his scores based on another student's paper. He urged others to compare handwriting samples to verify his claim. The CBSE has not yet responded to the allegations.

Revaluation Process Under Scrutiny

This incident follows widespread student and parent complaints about unexpectedly low marks since the CBSE Class 12 results were released on May 13, 2026. The board implemented on-screen marking this year. Many students experienced technical difficulties applying for scanned copies of their answer sheets. Those who received copies reported blurry text, raising further doubts about the process.

Deadline Extension and Expert Intervention

In response to technical issues and student concerns, the CBSE extended the deadline for requesting scanned answer sheets to midnight on May 25, 2026 . Students can apply for re-evaluation within two days of receiving their scanned copies. The Ministry of Education announced on May 24, 2026, that two IITs will provide expert teams. Professors and technical experts from IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur will assist CBSE. Their role is to ensure a glitch-free re-evaluation process.

IIT Teams to Upgrade Systems

The expert teams will focus on technological upgrades. They will improve portal stability and server performance. The teams will also enhance IT infrastructure. Issues with login authentication, user access, and payment gateways will be addressed. The goal is to ensure accuracy and a smoother process for students seeking re-evaluation.
