The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the admit cards for private students appearing in the Class 10 and Class 12 Board Exams 2026. This hall ticket is very important for all students, as it allows entry into the exam hall. Private students for both Class 10 and Class 12 can now download their admit cards from the official CBSE website. The CBSE Class 12 board exams are set to begin on February 17, 2026 . Students must carry their admit card for every subject exam they take.

What is an Admit Card? Why is it Important?

An admit card, also known as a hall ticket, is like an entry pass for your board exams. It is a document given by CBSE that proves you are allowed to take the exam. Each admit card has your details, the subjects you are appearing for, and the place where you will write your exam.

It is very important to have your admit card for two main reasons. First, without it, you will not be allowed inside the examination centre. No admit card means no exam. Second, it has all the correct details about your exam dates, times, and the specific centre. You need to show this card to the invigilators (the teachers supervising the exam) before each paper. Make sure to download and print it well before your first exam.

How to Download Your CBSE Admit Card 2026 (Private Students)

Private candidates for both Class 10 and Class 12 can easily get their admit cards online. Here are the simple steps to follow:

  1. Go to the Official Website: Open your web browser and go to the official CBSE website for private candidates. The address is cbse.nic.in . You might find a direct link on the homepage or look for the section titled "Private Candidate Admit Card 2026". A direct link is often provided like cbseit.in/cbse/web/pvtform/pvtAdmCard.aspx.
  2. Find the Download Link: On the website, look for the link that says "Admit Card for Private Candidates Class 10/12 - 2026". Click on it.
  3. Choose Your Login Option: You will see different ways to log in and download your admit card. You can use one of these options:
    • Application Number: If you have your application number from when you filled the exam form, enter it here.
    • Previous Roll Number: If you are re-appearing, you might need to use your roll number from your previous board exam.
    • Candidate Name and Father's Name: You can also enter your full name and your father's name as they appear on your application.
  4. Enter Details and Submit: Carefully type the required information into the boxes. Make sure there are no typing mistakes. Then, click on the "Submit" or "Get Admit Card" button.
  5. View and Download: Your admit card will appear on the screen. Check all the details carefully.
  6. Print Your Admit Card: Download the admit card as a PDF file. Then, print out at least two copies. It is good to have an extra copy in case one gets lost or damaged.

Remember to download your admit card as soon as possible and keep it safe.

Important Details to Check on Your Admit Card

After you download your admit card, it is very important to check all the information printed on it. If there are any mistakes, you must contact CBSE or your school immediately. Here are the main details you need to verify:

  • Your Name and Roll Number: Make sure your name is spelled correctly and your roll number matches what you received.
  • Exam Center Name and Address: Check the full name and address of your examination centre. This helps you find the centre easily on exam day and plan your travel.
  • Subject Codes and Dates of Examination: Look at the list of subjects you are taking and their correct codes. Also, check the date and time for each exam paper. Ensure all your subjects are listed.
  • Your Photograph and Signature: Confirm that your recent photograph and signature are clearly visible and correct on the admit card.
  • Other Instructions: Read any other instructions or rules printed on the admit card carefully. These might include rules about what you can and cannot carry into the exam hall.

If you find any error in your admit card, do not wait. Contact the CBSE regional office or the exam department right away to get it corrected. An incorrect admit card can cause problems on exam day.
