The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 will take place on November 30, 2025 . IIM Kozhikode is responsible for holding this important exam. CAT 2025 is a computer-based test held at a national level. It is for students who want to join MBA or PGDM courses. Over 1,200 business schools across India, including the top Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), accept CAT scores for their admissions.

The CAT 2025 exam will last for 120 minutes , which is two hours. The test has a total of 68 questions . These questions are divided into three main sections: Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Aptitude (QA). Students getting ready for CAT 2025 must know what to expect and what rules to follow at the exam centre. This guide explains the key steps and rules for a smooth exam hall experience.

CAT 2025 Exam Schedule and Reporting

The CAT 2025 exam is set to happen in three different time slots on the same day. It is very important for all students to reach their assigned exam centre early. Candidates must be present at the exam centre at least one hour before their scheduled exam time. This early arrival helps manage entry procedures and avoids any last-minute rush.

Important Rules for Exam Day Entry

The CAT exam day follows strict security measures and technical checks. Every student must follow these rules carefully to enter the exam hall.

  • Early Arrival is Key: Arrive at the exam centre at least one hour before your exam slot begins. This allows enough time for all verification and security checks without stress.
  • Required Documents: You must bring your printed CAT Admit Card 2025 . This admit card acts as your entry pass. You also need a valid photo identity proof. This can be your Aadhaar Card , PAN Card , Voter ID , Passport , or Driving License . These two documents will be checked thoroughly at the entry gate of the exam centre.
  • Security Check Process: All personal belongings of students will be checked. This includes handbags, backpacks, and any other items you bring.
  • Prohibited Items: Items like mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, electronic gadgets, study materials, and food items are not allowed inside the exam hall. If any prohibited item is found, it will be kept outside the exam room. Students should avoid bringing such items to the centre.
  • Biometric Verification: Before you are given a computer, your fingerprints will be scanned. This step is for identification and is called biometric verification. Make sure your hands are clean for this process.

Inside the CAT Exam Hall

Once you complete the entry checks, you will be guided to your specific test area.

  • Assigned Computer: Each student will be seated at a computer assigned to them. You cannot choose your seat or computer.
  • Rough Work Materials: You will be given a small writing pad and a pen for rough calculations and notes. No other stationery items are allowed from outside. You cannot bring your own pen or paper.
  • Login Procedure: An invigilator, who is a supervisor, will provide you with the necessary login details. These details are unique to you.
  • Starting the Test: Before the exam starts, instructions will appear on your computer screen. Read them carefully. The exam timer will begin only after you click the "OK" button to start your test.
