The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) launched free JEE and NEET coaching in 155 model schools on August 18. This initiative follows instructions from Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary. Students in classes 11 and 12 are eligible for this program. The board also introduced the 'Vidya Saathi' app, connecting students in grades 9-12 across 700 model schools with teachers for 24/7 support.
Free JEE, NEET Coaching Program
Residential coaching for JEE and NEET began in two Patna schools: Patna Collegiate School and Bankipore Girls Higher Secondary School. Following initial success, evening coaching started July 16, 2023, at 10 Patna schools. The program expanded to 145 additional schools. Non-residential coaching is available at nine divisional headquarters: Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Chhapra, Purnea, Saharsa, Munger, and Bhagalpur.
These schools provide subject-wise video content created by experts aligned with JEE and NEET syllabi. BSEB plans to establish a studio at its headquarters for live classes streamed to the 145 schools.
'Vidya Saathi' App for Student Support
BSEB is creating accounts for students in grades 9-12 across 700 model schools on the 'Vidya Saathi' app. District Education Officers are tasked with ensuring all students enroll. The app offers study materials in PDF format.
A unique feature allows students to communicate with teachers via video. Teachers cannot see students. Teacher payment will be based on student ratings. BSEB Chairman anticipates these initiatives will increase Bihar Board students' success in competitive exams like JEE and NEET.
