The Bombay High Court has dismissed four petitions challenging the Re-NEET UG exam results. The court found no discrepancies in the National Testing Agency's (NTA) evaluation. Petitioners who made unsubstantiated claims were fined ₹5,000 each.
Court Upholds Re-NEET UG Results
A division bench of the Bombay High Court at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar heard the petitions. Justices N.B. Suryawanshi and A.D. Shinde presided over the case. The court ordered the NTA to present original OMR sheets from Delhi. These sheets were brought in sealed covers for verification.
Verification Process
The original OMR answer sheets were unsealed and examined in court. Judges, candidates, their parents, and lawyers were present during the verification. The NTA submitted the original records. Senior Panel Advocate Mr. Rohit Sarvagya appeared for the Centre and NTA.
Court Findings
The physical verification confirmed no errors. The marks awarded by the NTA matched the answers on the original sheets. The court found the scores declared by the NTA to be accurate. There were no discrepancies in the evaluation process.
Petition Outcomes and Penalties
Two petitions were rejected on merit after the answer sheet verification. The other two petitions were withdrawn by the candidates. The court imposed a penalty of ₹5,000 on each candidate. This cost is payable to the NTA. The court stated legal machinery should not be abused with fraudulent documents.
