Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, starts accepting applications for BITSAT 2026 from tomorrow, December 15 . Students aiming for B.E. or B.Pharm courses at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad, or Goa campuses can apply. BITS has released the detailed eligibility rules online. Candidates must check these rules before applying on the official website, admissions.bits-pilani.ac.in .
BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test) is the entrance exam for these admissions. Students can apply for Session 1 or both sessions. Meeting all eligibility conditions is mandatory. Students not meeting the rules will not be considered for admission.
BITSAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates need to meet specific requirements for their 12th-grade examination and marks. These rules differ slightly based on the chosen course.
12th Grade Education:
- Students must have passed their 12th-grade examination .
- This must be under the 10+2 system from a recognised Central or State board .
- A minimum of five subjects is required: Physics, Chemistry, one Language, an additional subject, and either Mathematics or Biology (depending on course).
Minimum Marks Required:
For B.E. (except Environmental and Sustainability Engg.) and M.Sc.:
- Aggregate of 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics combined.
- At least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics individually.
- Both theory and practical marks count.
For B.Pharm. and B.E. Environmental and Sustainability Engg.:
- Aggregate of 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics combined.
- At least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics individually.
- Both theory and practical marks count.
- PCB stream students must have studied Mathematics at Class 10 level .
Year of 12th Grade Examination for BITSAT 2026
Eligibility also depends on when a student took or passed their 12th exam. Candidates must meet one of these conditions:
- Appeared for 12th exam for the first time in 2026 (with PCM/PCB subjects). Results must be out by June 10, 2026 .
- Passed 12th exam in 2025 .
- Passed 12th exam in 2025 and reappeared for improvement in specific subjects. Improvement results must be out by June 10, 2026 .
- Retook all 12th-grade subjects in 2025 or 2026 . Results must be out by June 01, 2026 .
Note: If a candidate appeared for the 12th class or equivalent multiple times, only their latest performance is considered. The "Pass" status must remain unchanged after any improvement exam or repeating the 12th grade.
