This exam is for admission to engineering and pharmacy courses at BITS campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad.

Key Eligibility Rules for BITSAT 2026

Understanding the eligibility rules is important for all students. BITS has set clear criteria for who can apply:

  • Students must score at least 75% marks in total in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) or Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) in their Class 12 board exams.
  • It is also necessary to score at least 60% marks in each individual subject – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.
  • A score of 74.90% in total will not be accepted . The 75% aggregate rule is strict.
  • Students with PCB in Class 12 can apply only for specific courses like B.Pharmacy and Environmental Engineering . They are not eligible for other engineering programs.

Class 12 Passing Year and Results

BITS has clarified which batches of students can apply:

  • Students who passed their Class 12 exams in 2025 are eligible for BITSAT 2026.
  • Students who are appearing for or will pass their Class 12 exams in 2026 are also eligible.
  • However, students who passed Class 12 in 2024 or earlier are not eligible for BITSAT 2026.

Students whose Class 12 results are not ready before June can still appear for BITSAT. However, they must meet the required eligibility percentage once their results are declared to be considered for admission.

Applying for BITSAT 2026: Important Points

The application process for BITSAT 2026 starts on December 15, 2025 . Here are some key points about applying:

  • One Application for All Campuses: Students do not need to fill separate application forms for each BITS campus. One application is enough for admissions to Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad campuses.
  • Missing Session 1: If a student misses the first session of BITSAT, they can still apply for Session 2. The application window for Session 2 will be from April 20 to May 2, 2026 .
  • Online Application Only: Application forms are available only online on the official website. BITS will not send forms by email or post. If students face technical issues, they can email bitsat@pilani.bits-pilani.ac.in or call the admission office at +91 1596 255294, 255330, 255540, 255541 for help.

Editing Application Details and Payments

BITS allows students to edit some details after submitting their application:

  • Once the application is submitted, students will have options on the official website to edit certain details.
  • However, some key fields like Gender, Contact Number, and Email ID cannot be changed . Students must be careful while entering these details.
  • If a student accidentally makes multiple payments for their application, BITS will refund the extra money. Students will need to provide their bank details for this process.

No Reservations, Quotas, or Other Exam Scores

BITS has a clear admission policy:

  • No Reservation or Management Quota: BITS admissions do not include any reservation for specific categories or a management quota. Admission is based purely on merit.
  • No Domicile Requirement: There is no rule based on where a student lives in India (domicile). All Indian students can apply if they meet the basic eligibility rules.
  • Only BITSAT Scores: Generally, BITS accepts scores only from the BITSAT exam. Scores from other entrance exams are not accepted for regular admissions.
  • Board Topper Scheme: A special scheme exists for Class 12 board toppers. These students might be eligible for direct admission. A separate application process will be announced for this scheme.

Checking BITSAT Scores

After the exam, BITS will carefully check and calculate student scores. The institute will not accept requests to re-check or review BITSAT scores as they are considered final. If there are any mistakes in other personal details on a student's score report, they should inform the authorities.

Students should regularly check the official BITS website, admissions.bits-pilani.ac.in , for all future updates and the application link. Prepare well and ensure all requirements are met for a smooth application process.
