BITS, Pilani, has changed the rules for students who want to take the BITSAT exam in 2026. The biggest change is that students who re-take all their Class 12 subjects are no longer allowed to apply. This update is important for anyone planning to take the BITSAT 2026 exam.
The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, announced this small but key change to its BITSAT 2026 eligibility criteria. While most of the old rules are still the same, the institute has removed a specific rule. This rule used to allow students to take BITSAT even if they re-took their full Class 12 board exams in a later year.
What Changed for BITSAT 2026 Eligibility?
Before, there was a rule (clause c) that said students who re-took all their Class 12 subjects could still apply for BITSAT. This was allowed as long as their results came out by a certain date. This specific rule has now been removed completely.
This means students can no longer re-take all their Class 12 exams and then apply for BITSAT 2026. All other rules for who can apply remain the same.
Who Can Apply for BITSAT 2026 Now?
With this new rule, only certain students can apply for BITSAT 2026:
- Students who are taking their Class 12 board exams for the first time in 2026 .
- Students who passed their Class 12 board exams in 2025 .
- Students who passed Class 12 in 2025 and are taking improvement exams for only a few subjects . They are not allowed to re-take all subjects.
For all eligible students, their Class 12 results must be available by the official deadline in June 2026 . This exact date will be announced later on the admissions website.
