The Bihar government has launched monthly student support camps. These camps aim to address student concerns within a 30-day timeframe. The initiative is part of the state’s Saat Nishchay-3 governance program.
Student Support Camps Launched
The first 'Vidyarthi Sahyog Shivir' or Student Support Camp took place at the Government Engineering College in Bidupur, Vaishali. Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary officially inaugurated the program. The camps are designed for students to voice issues related to academics, examinations, and campus facilities.
Concerns can be raised about hostel conditions, drinking water, sanitation, canteens, and internet access. The Chief Minister mandated that all student grievances must be resolved within 30 days.
Grievance Redressal Mechanism
An administrative monitoring system is in place to ensure timely action. Officials failing to resolve a problem within 11 days receive a warning letter. Further inaction can lead to letters from the Chief Minister's office, potentially resulting in suspension.
Students can also submit grievances and track their status online. The 'Vidyarthi Sahyog Portal' and Helpline number 1100 are available for this purpose.
Camp Schedule and Scope
Student Support Camps will occur on the fourth Tuesday of each month across all Bihar educational institutions. This ensures regular access for students to raise issues.

During the launch event, Chief Minister Choudhary inspected facilities at the Government Engineering College. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Health Minister Nishant Kumar were also present.
