The Assam Directorate of Medical Education (DME) began the offline document verification for 85% State Quota MBBS and BDS admissions on August 8, 2026 . This process is for the 2026-27 academic year.
Special Quota Admissions
Students seeking admission under special quotas must submit documents in person. These quotas include Children of Freedom Fighters, Martyrs of Assam Movement, Ex-Servicemen and Defence Service, Sports Quota, Victims of Extremist Violence, and Orphan Quota.
Physical submission is mandatory at the DME office in Sixmile, Khanapara, Guwahati. Applications sent by post or email will not be accepted.
Applicants must bring completed application forms. They also need photocopies of their NEET UG 2026 admit card, scorecard, PRC, and the relevant quota certificate. All copies must be self-attested.
Documents are to be submitted in Room No. 5 on the second floor of the DME office.
Category Change and Merit List
Students applying for category changes or adjustments in the provisional state merit list also undergo this physical verification.
Following the offline verification, DME Assam will publish the finalized state merit list. The online portal for Round 1 choice filling and seat allotment will then open.

Required Documents
Candidates reporting for physical verification must bring originals and two self-attested copies of the following:
- NEET UG 2026 Admit Card & Scorecard
- Class 10 Pass Certificate & Marksheet (for Date of Birth proof)
- Class 12 Marksheet & Passing Certificate
- Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) - Annexure I, signed by District Commissioner
- Certificate of Education in Assam (Class VII to XII) - Annexure II
- Caste / Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS)
- Special Quota Certificates (Freedom Fighter, Ex-Serviceman, Sports, etc.)
- Government Photo ID (Aadhaar Card, Passport, PAN Card)
- Passport Size Photographs (6-8 copies, as per NEET application)
