The Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh (BIEAP) has announced important new rules for the upcoming AP Intermediate board exams 2026 . These exams will begin on February 23, 2026 . The main goal of these new rules is to stop cheating and ensure fair exams for all students.
BIEAP is taking strong steps this year. For the first time, all exam centres will have CCTV cameras . These cameras will send live video to a main control room at the BIEAP office. Officials will watch these feeds to catch any unfair practices immediately.
Preventing Cheating: New Measures
To ensure fair exams, BIEAP has put several measures in place. These steps aim to create an honest environment where every student gets an equal chance based on their hard work.
- Live CCTV Monitoring: Every exam hall will have cameras. These cameras will send live video to a central control room. This allows senior officials to watch all centres from one place. If anyone tries to cheat or help others cheat, it will be recorded and seen right away. This system aims to stop students from copying answers or using unfair means.
- Flying Squads: These are special teams of officers who will visit different exam centres without warning. Their job is to check if all rules are being followed. They will make sure no one is cheating and that exam staff are doing their duties correctly. These squads will move between centres, keeping everyone alert.
- Sitting Squads: Besides flying squads, "sitting squads" will be at some local exam centres. These teams will stay at specific centres throughout the exams. They will watch closely to prevent cheating or rule-breaking on the spot. Their constant presence helps maintain strict order and fairness.
BIEAP has also identified 45 exam centres that need extra attention. These "sensitive" centres will have more security and monitoring. This is because these places might have had issues in the past, or cheating attempts could be more common there. Additional staff will be deployed to these specific centres to ensure fairness.
These new rules were discussed at a recent meeting at the BIEAP state office. P. Ranjit Basha, IAS , Secretary and Director of Intermediate Education, led this meeting. Regional Joint Directors (RJDs), Regional Inspecting Officers (RIOs), and District Intermediate Education Officers (DIEOs) also attended. They reviewed plans for smooth and fair exams.
Improving College Performance
During the meeting, officials also reviewed results of the pre-final exams held in December 2025 . They focused on the performance of government junior colleges. Some districts showed lower pass percentages in these exams.
Officials have instructed these districts to improve. They must increase academic monitoring, which means regularly checking student learning and teaching quality. Regular visits to colleges are also required to ensure progress. The goal is to help students in these colleges prepare better for the main AP Intermediate board exams 2026 and achieve good results.
Key Information for Students
Students taking the AP First-Year Intermediate exams this academic year must understand all new rules. BIEAP has made some changes for these first-year exams. All staff involved in exam duties have received clear instructions to follow these new procedures strictly.
These measures ensure that all students can take their exams fairly. Students should prepare well and follow all exam rules to avoid any problems during the exams.
