Andhra Pradesh and Australia signed multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on Sunday. The agreements focus on improving inclusive education, student mental health, and skills training for youth. Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh and Australia's Assistant Minister Julian Hill witnessed the signing.
Inclusive Education Initiative
One agreement partners UNSW with Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalam and Samgra Shiksha Andhra Pradesh. The goal is to enhance inclusive education across the state. Teachers will receive training to support students with autism and other neurodiverse learning needs. This program aims to make classrooms more effective for all students.
Student Mental Health Support
A separate agreement connects the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education with Australia's Rebound. This will launch a technology-driven pilot project in selected higher education institutions. Students will gain confidential access to mental health resources. These include wellness assessments and virtual counseling services.
Minister Nara Lokes stated that academic success must align with emotional well-being. He emphasized safe and stigma-free help-seeking for students. The pilot program will be free of charge.
Global Skills and Employment Pathways
The Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation and Australia's Dynamic Learning Services also signed an MoU. This partnership aims to strengthen vocational education and workforce development. It will support industry-aligned training. The program will offer globally recognized professional certifications. It also creates pathways for international employment.
Minister Lokesh highlighted preparing youth for global opportunities as a state priority. He believes this partnership will build strong links between learning and job markets.
