The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the expected cutoff marks for the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2026 for Class 6 students. These cutoff marks are for students in the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category. The marks are expected to be announced around March 2026 .
Cutoff marks are the lowest scores students must get in the AISSEE exam. If a student scores less than this, they may not get a seat in a Sainik School. These marks help schools decide which students will get admission. For OBC students to be eligible for the counselling rounds, they need to score at least 40% in the exam.
Understanding Cutoff Marks and Counselling
After the exam results, the admission process involves several rounds of counselling. There will be about five to six rounds in total. The number of rounds can change based on how many seats are empty in different Sainik Schools. After each counselling round, schools will release new cutoff ranks. These ranks will be different for students from the home state (the state where the school is located) and students from other states .
Previous Year Trends for OBC Students
Looking at past years, the minimum marks required to get into Class 6 have been around:
- For girls : Generally above 270 marks .
- For boys : Generally above 260 marks .
These numbers give an idea of the scores needed, but the actual cutoffs can change each year.
