How to Check Your AILET 2026 Seat Allotment Status

Once the seat allotment list is out, follow these steps to check your results:

  • Go to the official NLU Delhi website: nationallawuniversitydelhi.in .
  • Look for the link that says 'AILET 2026 Round 1 Seat Allotment Result' or similar.
  • Click on the link and log in using your registered user ID and password.
  • Your seat allotment status will be shown on the screen. It will tell you if you have been offered a seat and in which college and course.

Understanding Your Options After Getting a Seat

After you see your seat allotment status, you will have three main options: 'Freeze', 'Float', or 'Exit'. You must choose one of these and pay the confirmation fee by January 14, 2026, 11 AM .

1. Freeze Option

  • Choose 'Freeze' if you are happy with the seat you have been offered and want to confirm it.
  • This means you accept the specific college and course allocated to you in this round.
  • To confirm your seat, you must pay the confirmation fee of Rs 50,000 online.
  • After paying the fee, your seat is secure. You will then complete other necessary steps like reporting to the college as per their instructions.

2. Float Option

  • Choose 'Float' if you have been offered a seat but wish to be considered for a better college or course in the next allotment rounds.
  • By choosing 'Float', you keep the seat you got in this round as a backup. At the same time, you show interest in upgrading to a higher preference college/course if a seat becomes available.
  • You must still pay the confirmation fee of Rs 50,000 to keep your current seat. If you are offered a better seat in a later round, your current seat will be updated. If not, you will keep the seat you floated with.

3. Exit Option

  • Choose 'Exit' if you do not wish to accept any of the seats offered to you, or if you want to leave the AILET 2026 counselling process completely.
  • If you choose 'Exit', you will not be considered for any seats in this or future rounds of counselling.
  • You will not need to pay the confirmation fee.

Confirmation Fee and College Reporting

Students who choose to 'Freeze' or 'Float' a seat must pay a confirmation fee of Rs 50,000 . This payment secures your place. The payment must be made online through the official NLU Delhi portal. The deadline for paying this fee and completing the necessary steps for college reporting is January 14, 2026, before 11 AM . It is very important to complete these steps on time to avoid losing your seat.
