Students and staff at AIIMS Delhi must now seek written permission to use the institute's name and logo. New social media guidelines, implemented recently, prohibit unauthorized use of "AIIMS, New Delhi" branding on event materials, social media, and promotional content. This directive aims to prevent reputational damage and legal issues arising from improper branding.
New Social Media Rules
The guidelines specifically forbid the use of the AIIMS name and logo in any digital or print format without prior written approval. This includes event posters, social media posts, and online handles that suggest official representation. The institute stated that any use of its identity must align with official branding standards. Misuse can lead to warnings, suspension of access, de-recognition of student bodies, or bans from institutional events.
Managing Official Content
Student bodies and employees responsible for official AIIMS content must register their social media accounts. They need to provide contact details and institutional email addresses for the admin team. A Media Coordinator must be appointed for content approvals. Accounts must clearly label content as student-generated or department-generated, not officially endorsed unless specified.
Content Restrictions
- Do not disclose confidential or sensitive information.
- Avoid political, religious, or defamatory material.
- Maintain a respectful and professional tone.
- Sponsored content requires special clearance.
These rules apply to all students, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral candidates. Student associations, clubs, faculty, researchers, departments, and external collaborators must also comply with the new guidelines.
