The All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is a national-level test for law graduates in India. It is conducted by the Bar Council of India (BCI). Passing AIBE is a must for law graduates to practice law in any court across the country. The exam checks if a candidate has the basic knowledge and skills required to work as a lawyer. After passing, candidates receive a Certificate of Practice (CoP).
Along with the results, BCI also published the answer key. Some students had raised objections against certain answers. Following these objections, 5 questions out of 100 have been removed from the final scoring. All students who attempted these five questions will receive full marks for them.

The BCI shared details about the pass percentages for AIBE 20. A total of 2,51,968 students took the exam. Out of these, 1,65,613 male candidates , 86,336 female candidates , and 19 transgender candidates successfully passed the law entrance exam.

Next Steps for Candidates

For those who did not pass AIBE 20 or wish to take the exam again, the dates for the next exam, AIBE 21, have been announced. AIBE 21 will be held on June 7, 2026 . Students can prepare to appear for this entrance exam on the new date.
All candidates who have successfully passed AIBE 20 are now eligible to start their careers as lawyers in India. They can collect their Certificates of Practice (CoP) from the Bar Council of India or their respective State Bar Councils. This certificate allows them to begin practicing law across the country.
