Exam Background and Support
The NEET UG 2026 main examination was canceled due to a paper leak. A re-examination was conducted on June 21. Despite the disruption, students from government schools demonstrated strong performance.
The Punjab School Education Department provides support through programs like PACE. This offers free online coaching and mock tests to government school students. This initiative aids students in preparing for competitive exams.

Prateek Kumar, a student from Ludhiana, achieved 594 out of 720 marks in the NEET UG 2026 exam. His father is a private school teacher earning ₹16,000 monthly. Prateek aspires to become an oncologist and treat cancer patients.
He utilized the free online coaching and mock tests provided under the PACE program. This program is part of the Punjab government's efforts to enhance student preparation.
State Recognition
Punjab has been recognized for its efforts in school education. The state was the top performer in NITI Aayog’s Education Quality Report 2026.
