The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) launched a National AI Skilling Initiative on May 4, 2026. This program offers 15,000 scholarships to creative professionals. The goal is to train filmmakers, animators, and digital content creators. This initiative aims to make India a leader in creative technology.
Program Details
The initiative is a collaboration between the MIB and the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT). Google and YouTube are supporting the program. Scholarships provide free access to industry-recognized courses. These include Google Career Certificates and Google Cloud's GenAI learning paths.
Two-Phase Learning
The program has a structured two-phase learning pathway. It moves participants from basic AI understanding to advanced skills.
Phase I: Foundational Skills
All 15,000 participants will complete about 33 hours of online training. This phase covers Generative AI basics, prompting techniques, and responsible AI practices. Google Career Certificates will be used.
Phase II: Specialization
Graduates of Phase I can join advanced, hybrid modules. These cover storytelling, advanced AI tools, and YouTube audience engagement strategies. Sessions will be online and in-person in creative hubs.
Who Can Apply
The program targets high-potential individuals in the creative economy.

How to Enroll
Enrollment for the 2026 batch is open. Interested candidates can apply via the official IICT or MIB enrollment portals. The foundational phase starts soon. Registration is limited to the first 15,000 eligible candidates.
