About the Job

Key responsibilities:

Stock Inward Management: Verify incoming garments against supplier invoices, purchase orders, and delivery challans; record quantities, sizes, colours, and item codes accurately.
Stock Outward Management: Track all garments dispatched to shops, dealers, distributors, or customers and ensure quantities match sales invoices and dispatch documents.
Inventory Record Maintenance: Maintain an updated item-wise stock register, including SKU, design, size, colour, quantity, and cost.
Stock Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile physical stock with the stock register and accounting software, investigate discrepancies, and report shortages or excess stock.
Purchase and Sales Entries: Record purchase bills, sales invoices, purchase returns, sales returns, debit notes, and credit notes in the accounting system.
Inventory Valuation: Calculate closing stock quantities and values using the company's approved inventory valuation method and reconcile them with the books of accounts.
Supplier Ledger Reconciliation: Verify supplier statements, outstanding balances, purchase invoices, and payments to identify discrepancies.
Bank and Cash Entries: Record and reconcile bank transactions, cash receipts, cash payments, and related accounting entries, as assigned.
GST and Tax Documentation: Verify GST details on purchase and sales invoices, maintain supporting records, and assist with GST reconciliations and return preparation.
Accounts Receivable and Payable: Monitor customer outstanding balances, supplier payments, due dates, and ageing reports.
Expense Accounting: Record and classify warehouse expenses, transport charges, packing costs, and other business expenses under the correct ledger heads.
Month-End Closing: Assist with ledger scrutiny, inventory reconciliation, outstanding expense provisions, and preparation of monthly accounts.
Inventory Reporting: Prepare daily inward/outward reports and monthly stock summaries showing opening stock, purchases, sales, returns, adjustments, and closing stock.
Documentation and Internal Control: Ensure all stock movements and accounting entries are supported by approved invoices, vouchers, and other relevant documents.
Management Reporting: Highlight stock discrepancies, damaged or obsolete garments, slow-moving inventory, unusual transactions, and other issues requiring management attention
