About the Internship

We are not building "just another NGO website." We are building the digital backbone of a civic movement — a unified platform for learning, giving, volunteering, and system change. Our architecture powers real-world outcomes: Education delivered via our LMS, campaigns that raise lakhs in donations, volunteer actions coordinated at scale, and government and civic collaboration made trackable. A complete, scalable, secure, open-source tech stack for change. As an SDE intern, you will be part of the engineering efforts behind our modular WordPress-hosted platform.

This is a hands-on, full-stack development role where your code will shape how thousands of learners, volunteers, and donors interact with our mission every day. You’ll be responsible for building systems, not just pages — from payment integrations to secure user management, and from scalable CMS/LMS modules to civic engagement dashboards.

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

A. Engineering execution:
1. Own full-stack development across LMS, CMS, donations, volunteer and campaign tools
2. Build scalable, modular components (plugins, shortcodes, REST APIs)
3. Lead performance optimization – speed, uptime, and mobile-first design
4. Optimize website performance and responsiveness across devices and browsers
5. Contribute to the technical architecture and design of scalable web applications

B. Security & data protection:
1. Implement best-in-class WordPress hardening techniques
2. Manage user data privacy, form protection, payment security
3. Conduct code audits and stress tests for key systems

C. Cross-functional collaboration:
1. Partner with Product, Design, Programs, and Fundraising teams
2. Translate real-world operational needs into technical flows
3. Create admin interfaces for non-tech users to manage content/data
4. Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, and implement new features across our websites and platforms.
5. Identify and resolve bugs and technical issues to ensure a seamless user experience

D. Monitoring & impact measurement:
1. Set up uptime and error monitoring
2. Build simple internal dashboards for activity, conversions, traffic
3. Create alert systems for drop-offs or failures in donation flows, LMS progress, or volunteer ops
4. Assist in integrating third-party APIs and services to enhance site capabilities
5. Perform thorough testing and quality assurance to ensure reliability and stability
