About University Institute of Engineering & Technology (UIET), Chandigarh
The establishment of the UIET (University Institute of Engineering and Technology) took place in the academic year of 2002. The institute the affiliated to Punjab University, Chandigarh and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. Central government grants funds for the development and improvement of infrastructure and facilities. The institute has also been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) that helps to recognize and promote excellence in technical education.
UIET Chandigarh is situated in the southern campus of Punjab University. The infrastructure of the college is good. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled. The college organizes many industrial tours for the students. The classrooms are tidy and are large enough to accommodate a good number of students. There are special rooms equipped with projectors for better studies. Considering the cafeteria, it provides good quality of food which is hygienic as well. Laboratories are fully equipped with all the recent technologies and are air conditioned. It also provides Boys' and Girls' hostel facilities to the students coming from out of the city. Workshop block is a place where practical knowledge is given to the students. The college also organizes many industrial trips for the students.

The university offers Bachelor of Engineering degree in undergraduate and Master of Engineering degree in postgraduate programs. PhD is also offered by the UIET under computer science and engineering. The other two degrees offered are M.Tech in Microelectronics and Doctorate in Philosophy. The faculty members are well educated and highly qualified. Most of the faculty members are experienced. Some hold master's degree and some of them are PhD holders. All the members teaching core subjects are very good in their respective subjects. They always finish their syllabus in estimated time and make it easier to be accessed by the students. Even the assistant professors are well educated. Teaching is done through black or white boards or projectors.
UIET Chandigarh Admissions:
Admissions to various UIET courses take place through various modes.

Candidates seeking admission to undergraduate programs (B.E) are required to have passed 10+2 with minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved categories) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

There has to be a valid score of JEE Main examination

For postgraduate courses (M.Tech), the candidates should possess a bachelor degree (in the relevant discipline) with at least 55% of marks (50% for reserved categories)
