St Francis College for Women, Hyderabad is an autonomous minority college established in 1959 in Begumpet, Hyderabad. It is affiliated to Osmania University and recognized by the University Grant Commission (UGC). UGC has declared the college as College with “Potential for Excellence and NAAC has accredited with it “A” grade. The institute is set up in the heart of twin cities of Hyderabad and Secundrabad and is spread over 8-acres of land. The institute has an average strength of 3200 students with over 160 teaching and 110 non-teaching members. St. Francis College for Women offers courses in various fields at Under Graduate and Post Graduate level. It offers UG and PG courses namely B.Sc., B.A., B.Com., B.M.S., B. Autonomy and Accreditation of St. Francis College for Women:
The college was conferred the status of ‘Autonomous’ by the University Grant Commission in the year 1988.
The college was accredited with 5 stars by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in the year 1999. Later, reaccredited at the ‘A’ level in the year 2006 and 2012 respectively.
The college was given the status of ‘College with Potential for Excellence’ (CPE) by the University Grant Commission in the year 2004.
IQAC, the institutionalization and internalization of quality in education was formed at St. Francis College for Women in the year 2001, which was based on the guidelines of NAAC.
The courses offered by St. Francis College for Women includes an exciting range of Under Graduate and Post Graduate programmes along with numerous Diploma and Certificate programmes. The college follows Choice Based Semester System (CBCS) which was proposed by the University Grant Commission. Through CBCS, students can choose a variety of courses of other streams as well.

St. Francis College for Women was established in 1959 as an autonomous college of Osmania University and offers courses in the field of science, humanities, commerce, and vocational studies.
Highlights of admission at St. Francis College for Women:
The application form for admission in Under Graduate and Post Graduate programmes are available on the official website of the college at sfc.ac.in
The application fee for admissions would be paid through online mode only.
For admission in B.Sc., the candidate must have passed class XII from a recognized board with a minimum of 60 percent aggregate. The candidate must have studied English as the mandatory subject along with Physical and Biological Science/ Mathematics.
For admission in B.A. and B. Voc., the candidate must have passed class XII with a minimum of 60 percent aggregate in class XII from a recognized board.
The candidates seeking admission in B.Com. must have passed class XII with English and a minimum aggregate of 60-70 percent. The candidate who has passed class XII from CBSE or ICSE board requires 55 percent aggregate to apply for admission in SFC.
Admissions in Post Graduate programmes are dependent on candidate’s performance in Graduation.
Admissions in all the courses apart from BMS are provided on the basis of merit.
Admissions in BMS are provided on the basis of entrance examination conducted by the college.
Admission in Under Graduate Programmes:
Admissions are provided on the basis of candidate’s performance in the qualifying examination.
Candidates applying for admission in BMS must qualify the written test conducted by the college and must possess a minimum of 70 percent aggregate in English during class XII board examination.
Candidates who are applying for admission in BSc must have passed class XII with a minimum of 60 percent aggregate. The candidate must have studied any of the following subjects- Physical Science/ Biological Science and Mathematics.
Candidates who are applying for admission in B.Com. must have passed class XII with a minimum of 60-70 percent aggregate in class XII and must have studied relevant subjects in the qualifying degree.
Candidates who have passed class XII from boards other than AP, ICSE and CBSE must submit their eligibility certificate issued by the Board of Intermediate Education.
Candidates who have studied Telugu until class X and had Telugu as the second language in class XII shall opt for Telugu as the second language in the Degree courses.
BMS entrance test is a 2-hour long test which is conducted in an offline mode.
