Sir Parashurambhau College (S.P. College) is a college in Pune, Maharashtra, India that is autonomous (as of 2019). Founded in 1916 as New Poona College by British Governor Lord Willingdon, the college was renamed Sir Parashurambhau College in honor of the then-ruler of Jamkhandi State, who gave $200,000 in remembrance of his father, Parashurambhau Patwardhan. Shikshan Prasarak Mandali, a Maharashtra-based private education organization, governs the college. S. P. College provides a venue for cultural events and encourages students to develop their talents. Shri Sardar Jagannath Maharaj Pandit leased the current location of the college to the Shikshan Prasarak Mandali at the request of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak.Â

Sir Parashurambhau College Admissions
Admission to the B.A. and B.Com programs is based on the student’s performance in the prior qualifying examination, i.e. the 10+2 level examination. Candidates for admission to B.Sc. degrees are shortlisted based on their merit as determined by their 10+2 exam results and invited to the counseling rounds. Admissions to B.B.A. programs are based on a standardized entrance test administered by the University of Pune.Admission to the M.Sc. The Computer Science program is dependent on candidates’ performance in a separate entrance test administered by the Department of Computer Science. Candidates who have been shortlisted will be invited to the counseling rounds. Admission to all other postgraduate programs is dependent on the candidates’ performance in their respective undergraduate courses.
