Overview 8/5
If you’re choosing to join Madras Christian college (MCC), then feel free to stand for hours under the hot weather with absolutely little to no information. The MCC admission process is a bit tricky. You get one mail and that’s all the information that is left with you - The campus is big and so finding your way to the enrollment office isn’t gonna be an easy task. The Madras Christian College Faculty are great, there’s no doubt but, the admission process itself is long and ardent. You are expected to join the college immediately after the enrollment, missing on the ’First Day’ experience at college. The admission process and the classes happen side by side - so this is no hunky dory experience. Another thing, If you’re a day scholar - you’ll have tough time finding friends. Most of them will already be in a friend group and being a new comer, getting into one is a bit of a job. You won’t have any of the professor helping you out on your first day, you have to figure things out on your own (No proper protocol or information will be given) and you will have a rollercoaster ride on your very first day.Apart from this. Pros 1) This college is really good for those who are interested in sports (You get easy grades, Free Food, accommodation, lot of contacts and the list goes on) 2) Somewhat Liberal - You would have heard about it. Yes, the Madras Christian College is quite liberal. You have full liberty to have friends of the opposite gender, hang out with them, There is absolutely no dress code. 3) Cultural Events : As goes the drill, there is a lot of cultural events. From intercollegiate to interdepartmental fest, etc. You’ll have a lot of fun if you are constantly participating in all these fests ( Additionally there is also pongal celebration, exhibitions, lectures) basically you can slack off a lot. 4) Infrastructure : The Campus and the classrooms are really great especially, for the sanitation facilities - Women Students get an upper hand in that. Libraries are literally the one of the best thing ( You can access anytime and its super peaceful. It has a great collection of books + archives too) Cons : 3) The lack of structure at Madras Christian College might not suit everyone. Students who thrive on clear guidelines and regular attendance might struggle. This flexibility can also lead to procrastination and a reliance on shortcuts like copying notes. I hope you got the overall picture of what MCC campus life is really like
