Govt Engineering College Details

Government Engineering College, Ajmer commenced its establishment in the academic year of 1997. The establishment took place under the aegis of Government of Rajasthan. GEC Ajmer is a public state technical college affiliated to the Rajasthan University. The college has been approved by the All Indian Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

Government Engineering College is one of the leading engineering colleges in Rajasthan. Since its inception, the college has been striving hard to impart academic and practical skills which ultimately help students to become engineers with professional and practical expertise.

Courses offered at GEC Ajmer

The college offers programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. These courses are offered under several specializations. Government Engineering College Courses offer B. Tech program at the undergraduate level and M. Tech, MCA, and MBA programs at the postgraduate level.

  • B. Tech program is offered under seven different specializations such as Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering.
  • M. Tech program is offered under four specializations namely Computer Science & Engineering, Digital Communication, Production Engineering, and Software Engineering.

Admission to GEC Ajmer

Government Engineering College Admission is based on either entrance examination or merit in the last qualifying examination. Candidates seeking admission must ensure that they fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria defined by the college to become eligible for admission.

  • Admission to B. Tech is done based on the marks obtained by candidates in JEE Main examination. Candidates with a valid score in JEE Main are required to sit through REAP counseling procedure.
  • Admission to M. Tech is done based on the merit in the last qualifying examination. Candidates with a valid score in GATE examination are also eligible to apply for admission.
  • Admission to MBA and MCA is done based on candidates' performance in RMAT and RMCAAT respectively.

More about GEC Ajmer

The infrastructure of GEC Ajmer is spread over an area of 300 Acres of land and is surrounded by many hills. The campus of GEC Ajmer has two main buildings which are known as Old Building and New Building respectively. Most of the classes are held at these two buildings. A Central Lab, Chemistry Lab, Physics Lab and various other labs are housed by these buildings.

  • Creative Art Society

The creative art society of GEC Ajmer organizes the Annual Festival “Tarangini”. It also conducts various other cultural events on different occasions. The members students of the society are trained well to coordinate and organize programs of renowned artists. It also encourages students to participate in creative art activities and events conducted at the college.

  • Student Activity Center

Student Activity Center is the center of all student activities. It has emerged as one of the main aspects of the college. Various students' events are held at the student activity center and these events include musical extravaganza night, standup comedy acts, talks, and discussions by eminent personalities.

Placements at GEC Ajmer

During the placement procedure at GEC, Ajmer the students are shortlisted based on their academic performance and their participation in the various activities conducted at the institute. Major recruiters are Infosys, IBM, Bosch, Apollo, Appirio, etc.
