The Diamond Harbour Women's University (DHWU) is located in Diamond Harbour, West Bengal. It is the first women’s university in West Bengal. This university was established in the year 2013. It imparts education in the field of science and arts.
The first Vice-chancellor of Diamond Harbour University was Samita Sen and the current Vice-chancellor of the university is Kajal De.
Departments: Diamond Harbour Women’s University offers education in two streams which are science and arts (humanities). There are a total of 13 departments collectively in these streams. These are:
- Science: Department of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, and Geography.
- Arts: Department of History, Political Science, English, Bengali, Sanskrit, Education, Philosophy, and Women’s Studies.
Diamond Harbour Women's University Cut-off
Admission to the postgraduate courses at Diamond Harbour Women's University is based on graduation and the merit list. Hence, no entrance exam or cut-off is necessary for admission.
Candidates applying to MA, M.Sc., and M.Com should have a graduation of at least 10+2+3 level.
To gain admission to M.Phil and PhD courses, the candidate must clear the university written test (RET) and the interview.
