Central Institute of Technology, popularly referred as CIT Kokrajhar, is in Assam. It is a Deemed To Be University, which began its establishment in 2006. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), University Grant Commission (UGC) and affiliated to the Gauhati University. The Bodo Liberation Tigers (BLT), the Union Government, and the Assam Government signed a Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) on Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), which led to its establishment. The institute is also ranked under the 250-300 band by NIRF.

Eligibility criteria and accepted exams for all the courses are mentioned below:

  • Diploma - Candidates applying in Diploma course shall qualify (CITDEE) or Polytechnic Admission Test  (PAT) conducted by State Council for Technical Education (SCTE)
  • B. Tech - Candidates applying in B. Tech (Direct Entry) must qualify (CITDEE) or JEE Mains.
  • B Des -  Candidates applying in B. Des must qualify the Central Institute of Technology Bachelor of Design Admission Test (CITBDAT) or  UCEED. 
  • M. Tech - Candidates must have completed B Tech or equivalent in the relevant field with a minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA and have a qualifying score in GATE. 
  •  M Des - Candidates must have completed B Des or equivalent with minimum 55& marks or 6.0 CGPA. 
  • PhD - Candidates must have completed their masters in the relevant field with minimum 60%.

CIT Kokrajhar Admissions

CIT Kokrajhar admissions are based upon merit and entrance. CIT Kokrajhar conducts its own entrance examination, called Central Institute of Technology Diploma Entrance Examination (CITDEE) for diploma and engineering courses and Central Institute of Technology Bachelor of Design Admission Test (CITBDAT) for design courses. It also accepts JEE mains for B. Tech and UCEED for Design course. Admission inM. Tech is based upon GATE. 

 

How to Apply?

Step 1 - Candidates can access the online application form by visiting either http://admission.cit.ac.in or www.cit.ac.in/admission. 

Step 2 - Applicants can also submit an online application through the CITK-2022 Admission Portal.

Step 3 - A link for authentication will be issued to the email address and mobile number specified during registration.

Step 4 - Click on the link and provide password, mobile number, and email address to log in.

Step 5 - Candidates must read all instructions and specifics regarding the various programmes provided, intake capacity, eligibility requirements, etc. before moving forward with filling out the application form.

Step 6 - Candidates from the reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBC/PWD, must upload the category-supporting Certificate.

Step 7 - The online application form must be printed out and kept on paper by the candidates for their own records.
