Bengal College of Engineering Technology was established in the year 2001 at Durgapur of West Bengal. The institute is one of the popular colleges in the region for engineering aspirants. BCET is accredited from AICTE and affiliated to the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. BCET Courses includes 11 major courses comprised of 3-degree programmes namely Engineering, Management and IT.

BCET Admission:

Admission in B. Tech Course:

The candidate who wishes to take engineering as career option BCET can be a good option for them as the institute offers a 4-year full-time degree course in the field of Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics, and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering.

B.Tech Eligibility:

For admission in B.Tech course candidate must have qualified 10+2 or equivalent with an aggregate of 45% taken Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics together into consideration. For the candidates applying through reserved category, there is the relaxation of 5%.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech Lateral Entry:

  • Candidates applying for lateral entry of B.Tech at BCET having a Diploma degree should have completed the degree from any AICTE approved institute with minimum 50% Marks.
  • Candidate having a B.Sc Degree from a recognized institution needs to have an aggregate of 50% marks and mathematics as a subject in 10+2.

B.Tech Admission Process:

  • Admission in B.Tech Course of BCET Durgapur is done on the basis of merit through the Engineering Entrance Examinations conducted in the West Bengal State i.e.WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) or JEE Main (Joint Engineering Entrance Examination) conducted by NTA.
  • Admission of the candidates applying for lateral entry of Diploma holders in the 4th Semester of the course is limited to the maximum of 20% of the entire approved intake.
  • Enrollment in the above-mentioned seats depends on the performance of the candidate in the JELET Examination.

MBA Eligibility:

  • For admission in the 2 years, postgraduate management course in BCET candidate should have a graduation degree from a recognized institute or University.
  • Graduation should be done in the format of 10+2+3.
  • Minimum required percentage in graduation for admission is 45%.

BCET MBA Admission Process:

  • For admission in MBA at BCET Durgapur candidate needs to have a valid score in MAT (Management Aptitude Test) or WB-JEMAT conducted by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology.
  • The final selection is done on the basis of percentage weightage of last qualifying examination, rank obtained in aptitude test and performance in the selection interview.
  • Candidates in final year of their graduation are also eligible to apply for the course, however, admission of these candidates will depend on the result at the time of counseling.

MCA Eligibility:

  • For admission in MCA at BCET Durgapur candidates must have a graduation degree in 10+2+3 pattern with mathematics and/or Statistics as a mandatory subject.
  • Candidates pursuing graduation and is in the final year of the degree are also eligible to apply for admission in the course and have to qualify JECA.

BCET MCA Admission Process:

MCA admission at BCET depends on the rank scored by the candidate in the joint entrance examination JECA conducted by MAKAUT, Kolkata.

BBA/BCA Eligibility:

  • For admission in BBA course at BCET candidate needs to have qualified 10+2 with at least 30% marks in English.
  • For admission in BCA course of BCET candidates needs to qualify 10+2 from a recognized board with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the mandatory subject and minimum 30% marks in English.

BBA/BCA Admission:

Admission in both BBA and BCET is done on basis of merit of the candidate in the WB-CET.

Documents Required for BCET Admission:

  • Original copy of Provisional Admission Letter received from Reporting Centre & 1 photocopy.
  • Original final Seat Allotment Letter received from RC and 1 photocopy of same.
  • Attested 2 photocopies of Admit Card of 10th as age proof.
  • Two attested Photo Copy of Marksheet of 10th Standard
  • Two attested Photo Copy of Marksheet of 12th
  • Two attested photocopies of Admit Card and Rank Card of WBJEE or JEE Main
  • Attested photocopies of Migration if registered other than WBCHSE.
  • Eight recent colored passport size photograph
  • Medical Fitness Certificate
  • Demand Draft of the admission fee made in favor of Bengal College of Engineering and Technology “payable at Durgapur”.

If you want to ruin your career then please join bcet (b##d college of engg &tech we often call it by this name) placement is very poor in fact negligible, faculty are dumb and asshole not a worthy for engg take your time and make a good suggestions for any other college
