TNEA 2025 Rank List Tie-Break
Provided below is an overview of the tie breaking process for the TNEA rank list. This overview also showcases the importance of the random number allocation process in the rank list.
The tie-breaking process is as follows:
- In case of a tie between two students, the Mathematics marks for both students will be considered.
- If not, then the marks for Physics and then an optional subject will be considered.
- If all of these subjects do not break the tie, then both students’ overall score in their class 12th examinations will be considered.
- If a tie persists after this, students’ ages will be considered. The older student will be given preference.
- If all else fails, then the TNEA random number comes into use. The student with the higher random number will be given preference out of the two.
