
South Campus Colleges of DU at a Glance
In order to meet the university's development, the University of Delhi developed the south campus in 1973. It moved to its current location on Benito Juarez Marg, near Dhaula Kuan, in 1984. The nearest Delhi Metro station is Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus. The Arts, Inter-disciplinary, Applied Sciences, and S.P. Jain Centre for Management Studies faculties host several departments. Despite the widespread assumption that North Campus is superior, South Campus has its own distinct attraction. The South Campus of Delhi University is located in South Delhi and is blessed with some of the greatest culinary outlets, making college life feel like heaven. The campus also has some of the greatest institutions in Delhi, with Sri Venkateshwara being a well-known college that competes with the colleges on the North Campus.
The South Campus is popular for its prestigious colleges. The colleges are recognized and ranked for their academic brilliance, exuberant campus life, and multifaceted cultural activities. Amongst all of them, the well-recognized colleges are Sri Venkateswara College, illustrious for its robust science and commerce programs. Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College offers a vast range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Jesus and Mary College is a leading women’s institution with a focus on liberal arts and sciences. Maitreyi College stands out for its commitment to women's education and its extensive extracurricular activities. The College of Vocational Studies offers unique vocational and management-oriented courses, while Motilal Nehru College is noted for its humanities and social sciences programs. The South Campus was opened in 1973 as part of the university's expansion plan. It moved to its present location on Benito Juarez Marg, near Dhaula Kuan, in 1984, and covers 69 acres. Its constituent colleges include, Aryabhatta College, Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbia College, Gargi College, Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, PGDAV College, Jesus and Mary College, Ramanujan College, Maitreyi College, Motilal Nehru College, Motilal Nehru College Evening, Ram Lal Anand College, Sri Venkateswara College, Lady Shri Ram College, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, the Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, the Institute of Home Economics, the College of Vocational Studies, Sri Aurobindo College, Kamala Nehru College, Dyal Singh College, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College and Rajkumari Amrit Kaur College of Nursing.
Eligibility Criteria
Before enrolling in various University colleges, students should determine their eligibility for Delhi University. Admission to these programs will be based on merit or through entrance exams administered by Delhi University. Candidates for Undergraduate Courses (Based on Merit) must have passed their 12th test from a recognized board.
