The Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust is aimed to assist talented students, especially girls, to give higher education opportunities free of cost to be a barrier where many of our bright students are being disqualified. The Trust's Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Program will provide deserving students attending in the first year of 3-5 year undergraduate or integrated master degree programs in Commerce, Engineering, and Medical, at the initially selected colleges and universities in the Ludhiana district.

The financial investment is provided to recipients, the "Satya Scholars," with the expectation that they will have confidence and dignity in being educated. The objective is not solely to develop talent, but to help educate and empower underprivileged communities, which may inspire future leaders and professionals in Punjab.

Eligibility criteria for Satya Scholars Scholarship 2025

The Satya Scholars Scholarship offered by Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust is a merit-cum-means program designed to support eligible students, particularly those from Ludhiana district, pursuing higher education in fields such as Commerce, Engineering, or Medicine. The scholarship intends to support students from economic disadvantage, helping them pursue similar opportunities as other students with assistance in tuition fees at eligible institutes.

• Must have passed Class 12 board exams within the Ludhiana district with a minimum of 60% marks.
• Must be a citizen and resident of India.
• Family income (including guardian's income, in case of orphan) from all sources cannot exceed INR 5 Lakh per annum.
• Must be enrolled as a first year student in an eligible Commerce, Engineering or Medical bachelor's or integrated master's program for 3-5 years.
• Eligible courses include BBA, B.Com, B.Tech, B.E. (any stream), B.Sc. (Engineering, BCA), B.Arch, MBBS, BDS, BPT, B.Sc. (Nursing) and B.Sc. (Paramedics).
• Must be studying in selected colleges/universities in Ludhiana district (list enclosed).
• Preference shall be given to girls, athletes (State, National or International level) and Persons with Disabilities, orphans and children of single-parent families.
• After receiving the scholarship, the student needs to maintain 75% attendance, good conduct and 6 GPA (or 60% marks).

Key Benefits:

• Permanent scholarships awarded for the full duration of UG or integrated courses (maximum 5 years), as long as the scholarship is subject to renewal clauses.
• Provides 100% coverage of tuition fees based on the fee structure selected by the institute.
• Tuition fees paid by the selected student, in the first academic year will be refunded directly into the student or parent's bank account.
• On-campus hostel/mess charge may be loaned/considered on application as induction process is merit based.
• Once working, Satya Scholars have a duty to voluntarily support, at least once, a minimum of one student from a school or college study in a similar position, thus continuously propelling the cycle of educational support.
