The Samaj Kalyan Scholarship is a non-profit program that is provided by the Social Welfare Department of the states of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. The main motive behind this scholarship scheme is targeting students to complete their education.

Samaj Kalyan Scholarship fulfills the financial needs of students who are pursuing their post-matric and pre-matric education. Samaj Kalyan Scholarship is a merit-based program, that provides a bright opportunity for students who belong to economically weaker classes and can complete their education by applying for this scholarship program.

The Samaj Kalyan Scholarship Eligibility Criteria of each state mentioned below:

Samaj Kalyan Scholarship: Uttar Pradesh Eligibility Criteria

Pre-Matric

  • Candidates must be pursuing their class 9 to 10
  • Candidates from all categories (SC, ST, or General) are eligible to apply
  • The family’s annual income from all sources must not be more than INR 1,00,000

Post- Matric Intermediate

  • Candidates must be pursuing their class 11 to 12
  • Candidates from all categories (SC, ST, or General) are eligible to apply
  • The family’s annual income from all sources must not be more than INR 2,00,000

Post-Matric

  • Applicable for students pursuing UG, PG, or Postdoctoral Programs 
  • Candidates from all categories (SC, ST, or General) are eligible to apply
  • The family’s annual income from all sources must not be more than INR 2,00,000

Samaj Kalyan Scholarship: Application Process for Uttar Pradesh 

To make the application process for candidates, the UP Government provides an online application for the Samaj Kalyan scholarship through its Scholarship & Fee Reimbursement Online System known as Saksham.

Samaj Kalyan Scholarship: Amount in Uttar Pradesh

The eligible and selected candidates will be provided with variable financial assistance, that will be based on the scheme they are applying for.

Samaj Kalyan Scholarship: Dates in Uttar Pradesh

The application time is between July to September for the Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC/ST and General Category.
The application time for other scholarships is between July to November.

Samaj Kalyan Scholarship: Eligibility Criteria in Rajasthan

Post-Matric ST/SC/SBC

  • Candidates must be residents of Rajasthan.
  • Candidates must belong to the SC, ST, or SBC categories.
  • Candidates must be enrolled in a Government or a Government-renowned institution and be pursuing post-matric level courses.
  • The family’s annual income from all sources must not be more than INR 2,00,000

Post-Matric OBC

  • Candidates must be residents of Rajasthan.
  • Candidates must belong to the OBC category.
  • Candidates must be enrolled in a Government or a Government-renowned institution and be pursuing post-matric level courses.
  • The family’s annual income from all sources must not be more than INR 2,50,000

Dr. Ambedkar Post-Matric EBC

  • Candidates must be residents of Rajasthan.
  • Candidates must belong to the EBC category.
  • Eligible candidates must be pursuing their 11th-grade up till post-graduation
  • The family’s annual income from all sources must not be more than INR 1,00,000

Dr. Ambedkar Post-Matric DNTs

  • Candidates must be residents of Rajasthan.
  • Candidates must belong to Denotified, Semi-nomadic, and Nomadic Tribes (DNTs)
  • Candidates must be enrolled in a Government or a Government-renowned institution and be pursuing post-matric level courses.
  • This program is eligible for students who are pursuing class 11th up till post-graduation
  • The family’s annual income from all sources must not be more than INR 2,00,000

Samaj Kalyan Scholarship: Application Process of Rajasthan

To make the application process easy and simple for aspiring candidates, the Social Justice & Empowerment Department of Rajasthan allows students to apply online for the scholarship through the Rajasthan Online Scholarship System (ROSE). The portal provides all the required information that a student needs to apply for the scholarship of his/her choice.

Samaj Kalyan Scholarship Amounts provided in Rajasthan are listed below:

  • Post Matric ST/SC/SBC: Non-refundable fee and maintenance charges
  • Post-Matric OBC: Maintenance charges 
  • Dr Ambedkar Post-Matric EBC: Maintenance charges 
  • Dr Ambedkar Post-Matric DNTs: Maintenance charges

Samaj Kalyan Scholarship: Eligibility Criteria in Uttarakhand

Samaj Kalyan Scholarship Eligibility Criteria in Uttarakhand are mentioned below:

Post-Matric OBC

  • Candidates must belong to the OBC category.
  • Eligible candidates must be pursuing their 11th-grade and above
  • The family’s annual income from all sources must be less  than INR 1,00,000
  • Candidates must have qualified for their last passing exam

Post-Matric SC and ST 

  • Candidates must belong to the SC and ST  category.
  • Eligible candidates must be pursuing their 11th-grade and above
  • The family’s annual income from all sources must be less than INR 2,50,000
  • Candidates must have qualified for their last passing exam 

Pre-Matric SC and ST 

  • Candidates must be pursuing class 1 to class 10
  • Candidates must belong to the SC and ST  category.
  • Candidates must have qualified for their last passing exam
  • The family’s annual income from all sources must be less  than INR 2,00,000
  • There is no such income limit for students pursuing classes 1 to 8.

Pre-Matric OBC

  • Candidates must be pursuing class 1 to class 10
  • Candidates must belong to the OBC  category.
  • Candidates must have qualified for their last passing exam
  • The family’s annual income from all sources must be less  than INR 44,500

Pre-Matric Disability 

  • This applies to disabled candidates 
  • Candidates must be pursuing class 1 to class 10 from a renowned school or outside the state of Uttrakhand.
  • Candidates must have qualified for their last passing exam
  • The family’s annual income from all sources must be less  than INR 24,000

Post-Matric EBC 

  • Candidates must be pursuing their post-matric ( from class 11 up till post-doctoral level)
  • The family’s annual income from all sources must be less  than INR 24,000
  • Candidates must belong to the EBC category.
  • Students pursuing distance education are considered eligible

Pre-Matric Minority 

  • Candidates must be pursuing class 1 to class 10
  • Candidates must come from any minority class ( Christianity, Jain, Parsi, Sikh, etc)
  • Candidates must have qualified for their last passing exam
  • The family’s annual income from all sources must be less than twice the current income slab of below the poverty line.

Samaj Kalyan Scholarship: Application Process in Uttarakhand

Candidates can easily apply online for all the Uttarakhand scholarships mentioned on its official website National Scholarship Portal.

Samaj Kalyan Scholarship: Amount in Uttarakhand 

Samaj Kalyan  Uttarakhand Scholarship Amount for each category is mentioned below:

  • Post-Matric OBC: INR 750 per month for hostellers and INR 350 for day students.
  • Post-Matric - SC and ST: INR 1200 per month for hostels, INR 550 for day scholars.

Pre-Matric: SC and ST

  • For pupils in classes 1 through 5, the annual fee is INR 600.
  • For pupils in classes 6 to 8, the annual fee is INR 720.
  • Day scholars in grades 9 to 10 receive INR 1500 per year.
  • INR 3500 per year for Hostellers in grades 9 through 10. 

Pre-Matric – OBC

  • For pupils in classes 1 through 5, the annual fee is INR 600.
  • For pupils in classes 6 to 8, the annual fee is INR 720.
  • For pupils in grades 9 through 10, the annual allowance is INR 1000.

Pre-Matric Disability

  • For pupils in classes 1 through 5, the annual fee is INR 600.
  • For pupils in grades 6 through 8, the annual tuition is INR 960.
  • For pupils in classes 9 to 10, the annual fee is INR 1700.

Post-Matric EBC

 A maintenance allowance of up to INR 750 per month for a total of 10 months. Candidates will also be reimbursed for compulsory non-refundable fees.

Pre-Matric Minority

INR 50 per month for up to 12 months for students in classes 1-5.

For kids in grades 6–8, the monthly fee is INR 80 for up to 12 months.
For students in grades 9 through 10, the monthly payment is INR 120 for up to 12 months.
Samaj Kalyan Scholarship, Uttarakhand: All applicable scholarships have an application period that runs from October to November.
